I have a custom i.MX6Q device which is using the L3.0.35_1.1.0_oneiric file system. When I select the "Displays..." option on the Ubuntu menu, the display is marked as unknown. I ahve searched the web for a solution with no luck so far. Anybody know the answer? Do I need to edit the xorg.conf file? My monitor is 1280x720 HDMI.

I tried this suggestion and it did add additional resolution choices in the setup screen. But the monitor is still identified as "Unknown". I am using a Samsung SyncMaster HDMI monitor and have verified that EDID information is being sent from the device. Any idea why Ubuntu still has no idea what the monitor is???
