Hello,
For getting video from 4 Ip cameras , what should be speed of ethernet port of processor? 100 Mbps will be sufficient?
Regards,
Vinayak
Hi vinayak
this depends on resolutions@fps and as raw estimation one can consider
100 Mbps/4=25Mbps (~3MB/s) per camera, that results to VGA@10fps
In general this performance corresponds to what is practically
achieved with i.MX27 IP Camera Design

Hello,
Basically I want to get H.264 compressed data from 4 Ip cameras with ethernet cable of 100Mbps "each". Then I want this traffic on single port using switch then as per calculations if use below specs:
"
HD 1080P/2MP | 30 fps | H.264 | Expect 4 Mbps per camera |
"
That 5th port of 100Mbps would suffice? But Will iMx6 be able to process all 4 videos at same time?
Regards,
Vinayak
470 Mbps is max. i.MX6 ENET performance (ERR004512)
HD 1080P/2MP 30 fps => 60MP/s, assuming 1 byte/pixel =>
480 Mbps
