SSD enumerates at Gen 1 link speed after wake up from S3 sleep

Using iMX8QM and I am trying the below sequence

1. Power on the SSD (connected using key to key M convertor).
2. Check link speed to be Gen3
3. Put system to sleep say for 30 to 40susing rtcwake -m mem -s <sleep duration>
4. Check link speed to be Gen3 once system wakes up --> Error observed link speed drops to Gen 1
5. Repeat step 3 to 4.

I tested multiple SSDs and all of them reported Gen 1 link speed. The issue is recreated faster using L5.4.70_2.3.0_IMX8QM and L5.10.72_2.2.0_IMX8QM images at the link "https://www.nxp.com/design/software/embedded-software/i-mx-software/embedded-linux-for-i-mx-applicat.... I have tried the test on two IMX8QM boards and I am able to recreate the issue.

Could you please help to identify if it is an issue with OS.
