Hello,

what is the purpose of the USE_DEFAULT_ADDR bit (7) of this register?

I did not find any details on the datasheet.

My assumption is that is if current I2C address is different from the default, setting that bit will switch to the default I2C address (0x08). Is that correct?

What will happen then if the current I2C address is already 0x08? Will setting that bit be completely harmless?

Best Regards,

Marco

Hello Marco,

Thank you for using the NXP communities. It is our pleasure.

You are correct, the I2C address of PF1510 cannot be changed and it is fixed for a specific part number.

So, setting this bit will have no effect on the device behavior.

Regards,

David

Hello Marco,

I hope all is great with you.

In this case, please  consider the I2C device address as 0x08.

Unfortunately, the I2C address of PF1510 cannot be changed and it is fixed for a specific part number.

I hope this information helps.

Regards,

David

Hello David,

thanks for the reply.

I don't actually need to change the default I2C address, 0x08 is fine for us.

So based on your statement, that the address is fixed, can you please confirm me that setting/clearing USE_DEFAULT_ADDR bit (7), in register 0x68, will be completely harmless, and it will not harm PMIC behaviour at all?

Many thanks,

Marco
