Maximum RAM size i.MX 8M can support

Hi,

I would like to find out the maximum RAM size i.MX 8M can support.

I read the reference manual of IMX 8M. Section 2.1.2 A53 memory map, it says DDR memory size is 1 + 3 = 4GB:

 

However, in section 9.1.1.1, DRAM interface summary says max up to 8GB of memory:

Which one is correct?

Or both are correct? They could be different things: one for DDR memory map size, the other one is for the max DDR size that DDR interface can support? If this is true, how could it handle map 8GB DDR into 4GB of memory space?

do you mean imx8mm, imx8mn, imx8mq or imx8mp?

I believe it is IMX 8MQ (Q for quad).

for imx8mq, the max density is 4G
