hey there!

Id like to place an eSIM on an addon board for the MX7 SABRE.

Connector J7:

When I was looking for possibilities to connect the eSIM to the mx7 through the available connectors I stumbled upon the sim card connector (J7) in the schematic. It seems to be connected to the PCIe connector (J8) only? I cannot find the net respective labels anywhere else.

SIM card Signals:

SIM1P1 is part of the EPDC connector (EPDC_SD08..12). Simply connecting an eSIM to these pins (and adjusting the pin mux) should do the trick? Are there any drivers ready for (e)SIM cards under Linux?

Thanks,
Regards,
Lars

Q. the sim card connector (J7) in the schematic. It seems to be connected to the PCIe connector (J8) only?

A. Yes. This SIM card is provided only for a wireless module to insert into the PCIe connector.

Q. Simply connecting an eSIM to these pins (and adjusting the pin mux) should do the trick?

A. Yes.

Q. Are there any drivers ready for (e)SIM cards under Linux?

A. Yes, the latest 4.1.15 Linux BSP provides the driver for the SIM interface module.

Have a great day,
Artur
