Which kernel version is most long term supported? the current options are 6.1 and 6.6.
Kernel version 6.1 have LTS to 2026 and CIP maintenance to 2033.
Kernel version 6.6 have LTS to 2026 also, but no CIP maintenance.
I found that Meta-imx include
- kernel version 6.1 in yocto version Mickledore and
- kernel version 6.6 in yocto version Scarthgap
It looks like Scarthgap have LTS to 2028 and Mickledore is no longer supported.
Is it better to choose kernel 6.6 with yocto LTS or choose 6.1 with CIP maintenance?
