Install Linphone apk application on mx6q and question about VP8 encode

Hi

I have got this information about VP8 "encode" is not supported for VPU

and I verify this answer with document by following

We installed Linphone apk, there are two options of setting for codec,1 for VP8 and 2 for H.264, I just want to know  Linphone implements this encode  technology in hardware codec or in software? If it does this implementation in hardware, is there no effective ?

Am I correct ?    Thank you.

Correct, VP8 is not supported by the VPU. I haven't used Linphone before, but it will be deffinitely better if its done by hardware.
