IMX6UL 24 MHz crystal has 2.2M ohm resistor, requesting the usecase / purpose?

Hi All,

     In NXP IMX6UL EVK schematic has 2.2M ohm resistor to ground. we would like to know the purpose/use case of this resistor.

Hello,

 From the Hardware Development Guide :

Bias XTALI with a 2.2 M resistor to GND. Mount the resistor close to the XTALI ball.
The XTALI bias must be adjusted externally to ensure reasonable start-up time.
