I have a iMX8QuadXPlus and I set the machine name to imx8qxpmek but when I tried to boot the board off the SD card that contained the yocto image, nothing shows up.

I'm currently trying out imx8qxpc0mek to see if it works but how else do you determine if your machine is C0 silicon?

Om MEK board,

removed the heatsink CPU has a suffix B at the end of the code

CPU PCB BLACK 2017 is b0
CPU PCB GREEN 2018 is c0

But I'm not really migrating from B0 to C0. Just want to understand whether my board is C0 silicon or B0

rev.C0 has suffix "C" of processor marking.

the only text I see is IMX8-QXP CPU. It has a fan on it so maybe the complete name is hidden underneath, hence my concern about finding the full machine name including the silicon

i have been having issues loading up the yocto image off the SD card. Do you have a sample image of the boot log indicating the silicon type?

Hi jaux_al

one can look at AN12770  i.MX 8X C0 Migration Guide Migrating from i.MX 8X B0 to i.MX 8X C0

in particular sect.2.3 Software changes.
