To put the entire system into standby mode, run the following command:

# echo standby > /sys/power/state

Chapter 8 (i.MX28 Static Power Management Driver) of "MX28_EVK_Linux_Reference_Manual.pdf".

https://www.freescale.com/webapp/Download?colCode=L2.6.35_1.1.0_LINUX_DOCS&location=null&fpsp=1&Pare...

Power saving modes may be applied under USB-5V.

From section 3.1 (New Features) of i.MX28 EVK Linux Release Notes

(MX28EVKLRN,Rev. L2.6.35_1.1.0, 02/2013) :

“Add suspend-to-RAM support”.

Next, the following is

Kernel Configuration:

    System Type  --->

        Freescale i.MXS implementations  --->

            support MX28 suspend-to RAM feature

In the original EVK design, DRAM power source is provided by the on-chip power supply

and it will be turned off during mem mode. In order to support suspend to RAM, it must be

connected to a constantly on power source rather than the on-chip power supply.

OK.

your mean, do i select "S1" is lower, right?

S1: Battery source selection switch

Upper position: real 4.2V Li-ion battery using J85/J86.

Lower position: simulated 4.2V battery with on-board EVK 4.2V regulator.

S1 defines if the whole board will feed from a battery. For suspend-to-RAM mode it is necessary to power

DRAM only (and maybe RTC), when all the rest supply is OFF. The i.MX28 EVK does not support such mode.
