I want to use the RGMII port at1.8V to interface a Broadcom BCM54616S. The Broadcom PHY requires HSTL levels (not just lvcmos 1.8V).
In the i.MX6DL datasheet I cannot find anything about signal levels for RGMII at 1.8V.
Does anybody know if the i.MX6 guarantees HSTL compliance?
Thanks.
Hello Reno Falkenberg,
As you can see in Table 8 of the i.MX6DL Data Sheet (link below) RGMII is supported on 1.5V, 1.8V and 2.5V modes. It is my understanding that HSTL uses 1.5V levels so it should work on RGMII 1.5V mode but I’m not aware of a HSTL certification per se on the i.MX6.

Hi,
Unfortunately, HSTL is not only defined by the power supply level. It is mainly defined by signal levels and level margins. It is therefore different from just low voltage CMOS standards. I would expect a datasheet that takes this into account.
