Build initramfs and deploy with yocto

Hello,

I've found the following step-by-step instruction for building initramfs

i.MX28: Enable initramfs step by step 

But it seems not to use yocto, but ltib buid.

We are building with yocto, does it mean that mkimage step is not required ?

How can I know if it already done or not in yocto build for initramfs ?
