Dear All,
Hello.
The below voltage may occur to the I2C SDA line by external connected device before powered on the i.MX6DQ.
Voltage : 2.0V
Apply Time : 20us
(Board : Custom board)
In this case, is there possibility to destroy i.MX6DQ?
We hope that i.MX6 has the overvoltage protection.
(If it is possible, how many voltage is it possible to endure in i.MX6?)
Best Regards,
Keita

Is the overvoltage protection included in i.MX6 all pins with "GPIO" type?
ANSWER: Yes, all the GPIO Type Pads had an overvoltage protection
[Q2]
Is there limitation on the time of voltage applied?
ANSWER. Yes there are but the value it is not available in our datasheet, so it is not validated, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Does i.MX6 have the margin to 3.3V limitation?
Is it OK the unintentional voltage less than 3.6 V (= Absolute Maximum Ratings)?
ANSWER. If you we are talking about the I2C pad, it is different from the GPIO pad, nevertheless it is in the same pin, so I do not see any problem applying the 2.0v for 20ms
Have a great day,
Jaime

Hello Keita,
We do not see a problem of the i.Mx6DQ get destroy for applying this 2.0v for 20ms to the board. Since as you mention the i.MX6 has overvoltage protection. I do not have the parameter of how much it is the maxim to allow but in this case it is cleary less than the 3.3v that supports this pad.
Have a great day,
Jaime
