A/B seamless updates on imx6

Is that the imx6 processor can't do an a/b seamless update or that the software support is there only for the imx8? Is it possible to adjust the software for the imx8 in order for it to work for the imx6 if it isn't a processor limitation?

You can do the port with software, but it won´t work on hardware side because the IPU of the MX6.
