[JN-AN-1216] How long will the Coordinator keep the data before device request?

Dear Sirs,

In [JN-AN-1216] "IoT Control bridge", how long will the Coordinator keep the data until the device polling for it?

How to extend the period?

Hi Alan,

This process is handled by the Zigbee stack, it is part of the specification.

But, why do you want to change this time? You could look at the routing table and you will find the device information.

Hi Mario,

For example, a coordinator will discard the data  if the end device does not request for it within 7 seconds.

Therefore, a device powered with battery wakes up every hour for data request, it is possible losing all the data for that device.

At this situation, how to extend the period for coordinator keeping the data until end device request for it?

Hi Alan,

If the end device sends data requests and if the coordinator needs to send some information, a flag, pending internal will be set and the end device will keep awake waiting for the next information.

If a end device goes to sleep and will wake up after one hour.

At this moment, the coordinator needs to send some information. 

Will the coordinator hold the information for one hour long?

Or, will the coordinator discard the information after 7 second?

Hi Alan,

The information will keep for 7 seconds. waiting for the data request from the SED.

You could synchronize the device to send that specific data request.

Please look at the Time Cluster for achieving this.
