Hello NXP Team,
We are using JN5169 chip in many of the boards in our boards.
Some the time we found that suddenly some chips stops giving log on UART1, though we are using same firmware on another working board.
Very first doubt is with ESD damage. But some times team do not understand that every time damage is not from ESD.
So I want to know that "How can we know that chip is damaged from ESD??"

the way to see if the part has a ESD damage is decap (remove the plastic) the chip and inspect the wafer with an big microscope. there is the only way to check that the damage is for ESD. An easy way is check if you have any high impedance on the chip with a multimether. Normally a esd damage produce a degradation on the chip causing a high impedance on the pin.

Thanks for the feedback. "decap (remove the plastic) the chip and inspect the wafer with an big microscope" is not possible in our company.
Regarding impedance of the pin. We should have correct value of impedance of the pin.
So how can we know that? Just by comparing working chip impedance with ESD damage chip will solve the issue ??

this will not solve the issue, with this you will know if the chip is damaged or not, and yes you need to compare the good unit with a bad unit
