MMA955xL - measuring distance, precision?

Hello,

reading specs, I thought mma955xL could measure not only steps, speed e tc, but maybe also an object movement. Is it possible? Or am I mistaken here?

For example: moving an object from point A to B, say for 10cm, could I detect it with this platform? Is it possible at all?

Hello Oleh,

The MMA855x is an accelerometer, hence you'd only have the acceleration data.

Now, by knowing the acceleration of an object and using some kinematic equations you could easily obtain velocity and distance. However this is not an easy task and it would only be an approximation to the object actual position.
