I've read the datasheet and looked at the NXP product page and I'm still none the wiser.

What is the difference between MPXH6400AC6T1 and MPXHZ6400AC6T1 ? i.e. what does the Z in the part number mean?

They both have upwards facing nipples, both are identical electrically, both are absolute 400kPa, both are tape and reel?

I did a search on the letter Z in the datasheet and the only occurences are on the first page.

From Farnell, the Z part is a few pence cheaper? Why?

Hello James,

The only difference between them is that the MPXH6400AC6T1 uses a standard Fluorosilicone gel while the MPXHZ6400AC6T1 an improved Media Resistant gel.

The Fluorosilicone gel (Type FE-53) is being used for all standard type of pressure sensors. The Media Resistant gel (Sifel) is being used for pressure sensors that are used e.g. in high temperature environments, mainly in automotive applications. All pressure sensors with the designator Z (MPXAZ, MPXVZ, MPXHZ) are those using Media Resistant gel.

Best regards,

Tomas
