It does not have any meaning and the performance is guaranteed in entire range.
Of course, it is good to use the value which is used on our EVBs because RTD examples are oriented to this value. (makes staty of examples easier)
Moreover, if you decide to have direct clock frpm oscillator for CAN module, because of required clock precision, then the oscillator of required value must be used in dependence on used bitrate.
Selection can also depend on your experience with some type, frequency, EMI or anything....
