We are targeting to use FS32K144HFT0VLLR for an application that requires 4-Lin ports so we plan on using the 3x LPUART and the 1x FlexIO to emulate another LIN.
Customer had a question on If the microcontroller is the LIN master, could 1 LIN port run 4 LIN transceivers using chip select or sleep lines (I‘ve never used LIN before and am not sure what sleep mode is or if slaves need to interrupt the master now and then)?
I believe a LIN bus only supports 15 slaves so this design requires 4 LIN ports in order to talk to 60 lighting modules.
Hi David,
I do not think LIN transceivers can be connected this way.
So use more LPUARTs or FlexIOs to serve LIN masters with individual transceivers as you wrote.
Or maybe SJA1124 could be other option, it is quad LIN master controller/transceiver with SPI interface.
