There is a great tutorial on using CMSIS here: https://mcuoneclipse.com/2013/02/14/tutorial-using-the-arm-cmsis-library/

It was written by our colleague @BlackNight. While the device is different and the tool (CodeWarrior) is different, the steps should be quite similar as the devices use ARM cores and the tools are built on Eclipse.
