Hi community,
We are looking for a developer with experience on Yocto recipes to port a meta-layer from Yocto 2.7 (Warrior) to Yocto 3.1 (Dunfell)
The task is mostly to resolve issues that may arise from bitbaking the meta-layer. There is proprietary code that our own engineers are porting, but we don't have enough bandwidth to address all the issues.
The meta-layer has around 50 recipes between bb and bbappend files, however, maybe 10-15 need care.
We can discuss further details if interested.
Thanks.
Thank you for replying.
We are porting our embedded layer from Yocto 2.7 to Yocto 3.1 and we are having difficulties building some recipes, like libselinux to name one, which is part of meta-selinux, but nonetheless, it fails to compile.
Fixing one issue may uncover another one, so the scope is somewhat fluid. I'm working with the team to narrow the list down to rock bottom.
Have you done this type of work before?
If you migrate your Yocto build environment from Warrior to Dunfell, why don't use packages recipes from Dunfell directly? Why do you want to port packages recipes from Warrior to Dunfell? This will bring in incompatibility issues.
What issues have you encountered during porting? We could discuss them in details.
