LS1021A SPI NOR Flash Support

We are trying to figure out if we can attach a micron MT25QU512ABB spi flash to the LS1021A over the SPI (not the QSPI) and what files in the kernel and the uboot would need to be changed. I was trying to take a look to see if there is a template out there but the closest is the QSPI on the LS1021A IOT board. Could you point me in the right direction to get this working.
