Hello Sir
Recently, there were 5 cases of TXD pin damage of TJA1041 in the customer side.
The NG chip displays the error pin is low and cannot be recovered.
due to the TXD damage make the RXD always high and go to RXD recessive clamping detection.
Have you ever seen any same situation such as this?
What causes the TXD pin damage in general?
Thank you.
BR Victor
Hello,
I have not heard of other customers with such a problem.
Anyway, the TXD pin damage can be caused by several factors, which generally relate to electrical overstress (voltage spikes/surges) or improper handling.
My recommendation to avoid TXD pin damage is to implement proper ESD protection measures, including ESD suppressor components and careful handling procedures. Also make sure that the power supply to the transceiver is well-filtered and regulated to avoid voltage fluctuations. Follow best practices for PCB layout, including proper grounding/decoupling. And possibly implement protection resistors in series with the TXD line to limit current in case of faults.
