I'm trying to install few packages on Linux 6.1.36 OS installed i.mx 8 nano board using apt-get install command, but for each packages I'm getting an error message like 'Unable to locate package <package name>. can you please help on this how to get resolve this issue. attachment I have uploaded below.

Here i'm not using Yocto project or any other tool to create image, I just downloaded default BSP image zip file from NXP portal and flashed into emmc. can't we add packages into default BSP Linux OS ?

The i.MX BSP does not have a package manager like apt-get. You would need to add it to the Linux image. There is some information on the following documents, although further customization would be required.

Also, you could try to use NXP Linux Yocto Project BSP for Desktop PoC (it has package manager).
