Hi All,
I hope someone will be to help me here, so basically I want to test my motor control algorithm using the PMSM dev kit with a resolver and the following kit is perfect for me
However I want to use my own control board instead of the one that comes with the kit. The problem here is the PCIx4 interface and I was wondering if there is a breakout board that I can use to connect my control board to it.
Thanks,
Another question
I didn't order the PE Multilink Universal debugger so my question is can I still flash/program the board using OpenSDA?
Thanks,
Ali
Hi Ali,
yes, there's in-built OpenSDA, so you don't need other debug probe.
Standard JTAG connector allows you to use another debugger if needed / if OpenSDA is not sufficient.

Lukas
Hi,
Can someone please tell me the part number for the PCIe connecter.
Thanks
Thanks lukaszadrapa.
Do you have any suggestion on how to connect my own control board to eval kit?
Regards,
Ali
Well, you need to use the same PCI express layout on your board as on the MPC5775E-EVB. I can't see other option.
Hi Lukas,
So basically I ordered PCI extension cable that I will use to connect my control board. The question I have is regarding the break resistor, it is mentioned in the kit manual that if I power up the board without the control board connect the resistor will break. In my application I don't have any requirement for break resistor so shall I just remove it before connecting my control board.
Thanks,
Ali
Hi Ali,
I can't see a reason to remove the resistor. You can take a look at the schematic https://www.nxp.com/webapp/Download?colCode=PMSMPOWERSCH
See BRAKE_PWM and BRAKE_GATE signals. If you don't set BRAKE_PWM signal (available on the connector) to '1', no current will flow via the resistor.

Lukas
Thank you very much Lukas for a swift reply. I will have a look at the schematics and set the PWM_BREAK signal appropriately.
Thanks,
Ali
