When breakpoints is stopped and there is lot of variables (like local variables for debugging observation), debugger stops and we need to rerun debugging. Debugger basically exits.
This can happen also if we expand struct having lot of elements. Number of variables to reproduce this don't need to be particularity high. (10 should work, but take 20 to be sure).
I am using lpcexpresso54628 and up to date mcuexpresso ide on Linux (debian 11).
I am debugging with cmsis debuger LpcLink2 and I got same issue when I tested this with debug probe firmware from Segger on same LpcLink2 probe.
ZhangJennie, Thank You for your help
My Pc has 40GB of ram and 500GB free disk.
I have recorded video that show what happens.
https://instrumentationtechnologies-my.sharepoint.com/:v:/g/personal/luka_rahne_i-tech_si/EVj9y-8NQ1...
You can see here, that I made demo app project from dev_composite_cdc_vcom_cdc_vcom_freertos
I than put breakpoint on virtual_com.c in line 362 .
I then open virtual com port and press key that triggers breakpoint.
When I expand vComInstance variable in debug view, debugger stops.
This can be seen at 3:00 in video.
At the end of video 4:15 you can see installed versions (should be up to date) and later available ram and disk of Pc.
Note:
In video I made project on top of lpcexpresso 54608 where I should do on Lpc54628 as this is system i am running. I did that offline and result is same.
Debugger I am running is from devboard (onboard debugger)

Let me know if you need more info,
Kind regards, Luka.
HI raluralu
I just tested this with my MCUXpresso IDE 11.4.0, there is no issue
I suggest you test this demo with under a NEW workspace. see how it works.
If problem persists, reinstall your IDE.
Regards
Jun Zhang
Hi ZhangJennie
At first we did tried with new workspace. That did not help.
We have removed previous version 11.4.0 and installed new version mcuxpressoide-11.4.1_6260.x86_64.deb.bin
It seems that there are same same issues as seen before.
Do you have any other hints that we can try?
I have notice that your system to test this is Windows, where we do run this on Linux.
Kind regards, Luka.

Hi @ZhangJennie
Can you update on your release schedule and provide estimate on when you plan to make this feature available, so we can plan for our development activities accordingly.
Kind regards, Luka
It should be released by the end of Jan,2022.
Hi raluralu
Could you please confirm if your computer match the computer requirement of MCUXpresso IDE:
If it does, please try to create a new workspace and test your project again. How does it work?
If still have the same problem, please upload your demo project and let us know how to reproduce it. I will work on it directly to identify where is the problem.
Thanks,
Jun Zhang
