I am designing a hardware using LS1046. While I designing PCIe, I found SMB data and clock of PCIe is connected to host through I2C protocol. Is it necessary to use this SMB in PCIe designing or can I left it unconnected?

Thanks in Advance

For detailed information, kindly refer to the "PCI Express Mini Card Electromechanical Specification, Rev 1.2" System Management Bus (SMBus) is optional as per PCIe base specification. The pins assigned to these functions are to be left disconnected if the functions are not implemented.
