How to use Ethernet functionality

The Ethernet functionality  depends on the "Ethernet PHY firmware" or "dPAA2-MC" ?

I think it should be depends on the DPAA2, because dPAA2 is extensively described in the manual,

What does Ethernet PHY Firmware  and when should i use it ?  If using DPAA2, then "Ethernet PHY firmware" does not need to program to flash?

The "Ethernet PHY firmware" is required for Inphi IN112525 and is independent of the DPAA2:
