LPCXpresso 5.14 Clean Install [OK]
New empty workspace
Created a new makefile project
Build OK -- no errors

NB: linked to 0x10000000 (i.e. On-Chip SRam)

Debuger starts (refer to http://knowledgebase.nxp.com/showthread.php?t=4091).
That link has a screenshot of the debug launch setup.

Press F5 for step, debug session closes.
The console logs seem to imply an internal gbd error occured.

Ziped logs attached.

Mike.

We have reproduced the problem in 5.0.14 and expect it to be fixed in the next release.

I noticed in the console logs that a core file was created.
Would it be helpful to send this to you?
If so, where and in which directory tree is it located,
and what is it called?

The textfile is a complete step by step.
Is a screenshot wanted, if so of what, at what point.

This issue happens for me every time.

Btw, I had been using 4 in the mean time, selecting 'debug' caused the usb drivers to be reinstalled.

I have built and loaded your application (after fixing your makefile) and been unable to reproduce any problem with GDB. Please describe exactly (step-by-step) how to reproduce the problem.

Here is a minimal project. [NB: for the LPC1778]

BTW, new 'Registers' view is a real pain, it always comes up collapsed.
Is there a way to make it behave like 'Core Registers' from 4. I.e alway open
and no hierachy at all.

I can confirm that is a GDB crash (first one I have seen for a long time). Can you post an example that reproduces the problem, so we can investigate.

Thanks
