SCT0 Output When Halted

Using LPC5516, generation of PWM output from SCT0 continues even when I pause the debugger.

Is this to be expected?  Is there a way to change this behavior?

Yes, this is normal, pause button in IDE is pause the core of MCU, while the peripherals still working.
