ETM tracing for third party and system libraries

Hello all,

Can ETM (Embedded Trace Macrocell) be used to trace system libraries and third-party libraries, especially when the source is not available? I am using Cortex-M4 (K64f).

Please check the link below that demonstrates how to implement Instruction Trace using our MCUXpresso ecosystem. In this document it is stated that the source code is needed in order to link instructions for tracing.
