Hi, I've built my KIT-HGDRONEK66 and I've run into a problem. The 4 propeller nuts all thread on CW. Because of this 2 propellers always come loose when I turn them on. Am I missing something or should I've gotten 2 CCW?

Thanks

This is correct configuration and shipment.

The latest revision of the KIT-HGDRONEK66 HoverGames Drone development kit uses all four motors with CW nuts.

We appreciate that there may be concern about this, but we have consulted with our supplier and drone experts on this and they advise just to be sure to torque down the nuts well.
If the nuts are tightly closed there is no issue.
We do fly all of our own test drones just with CW nuts and all modern drones motors have just CW used by thousands of drone operators without problems.

Can I use Loctite for securing propeller's nut?

Is there any specification for the torque for these nuts? Or is it less precision, more Loctite and crank it down hard?

Hi NXP, There is an issue even though the nuts are tightly closed. When the motors rotate, the strong rotation and vibration can cause the nuts to loosen. The propeller will hurt or kill us. It is really dangerous dangerous dangerous. We are very disappointed if NXP doesn't care about this. If this problem occurs, NXP should take legal responsibility.

Hello Frank,

NXP is certainly concerned with your safety and the safety of others when using this drone development kit. We rely on the expert advice of our suppliers and experienced drone operators when choosing components. I refer you to the safety sections of our gitbook for additional advice while working with the development kit.

Please, if you are not comfortable with this hardware, you can certainly return them for a full refund.

Hi Frank, i can understand your doubt. But i'm flying drones (racing and commercial) since 2014. All of them with CW nuts only. None of them got ever a loose prop because of vibration. You need to crank the nuts very tight for sure.

The only time i have seen a loose prop was when hitting ground with my racers and something is blocking the prop while motor is still spinning.

If you look around at the high quality motors available on the market like T-motor they all have CW only.

Does this mean all 4 motors and propeller nuts are identical parts now, saving us money keeping double the spare parts?

Hi,

I had to buy the a new motor on Amazon that had the correct thread type. Relatively expensive but I couldn't find just the propeller hubs for sale.

Link for part: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08CRTR7CZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And yes, you should have gotten 2 CCW and CC threaded hubs.
