We use MCF52259 for our power controller.
I am looking for codewarrior linux version (Ubuntu 14.04) to target on MCF52259.
Please tell me where I can download it
Thanks.
Hi,
It seems that the your hardware is Ok. So for more detail information on how to use the CodeWarrior, please submit CodeWarrior issue within the CodeWarrior community. Thanks.
Hello,
Not sure how your "Device Manager" looks like. Does the multilink been installed correctly? Anyway, you may download the WIN10 driver here:http://www.pemicro.com/downloads/download_file.cfm?download_id=53
Fang,
My CodeWarrior only generates S19 file (application) for my MCF52259.
Looks like I need to use S19 file with bootloader to create a sres file. And make
sres file flashed to MCF52259.
To do it what I should have and do?

Fang,
I find that I need more knowledge on files like elf, s19,srec etc for MCF52259 with CodeWarrior.
Since s19 can be flashed to my custom board, that means no hardware issue.
My codewarrior can generate elf and s19 but could not create srec file.
Could you please help me on how to use elf, s19 and srec in CodeWarrior environment (I do not know how to create srec file yet)?
Thanks.

Fang,
Yes, I already install it.
For now, my CodeWarrior version 11 can build in ram and flashforpackaging.
in ram build, get *.elf
in flashforpackaging, get *.elf and *.s19
File *.s19 can be flashed using method attached file bb232FlashInstructions.
So, my hardware setting is correct.
The problem is:
run and debug in CodeWarrior for *.elf fails.
Any clue?

Hi,
This is not a license issue. There are always hardware issues. Please check below:
1) Multilink is not working properly.
2) Hardware problem. If you do not use the NXP evaluation baord, then please double check that the BDM connection is correct.
3) You are not programming your device correctly.
Fang,
In my windows 10, should USBDM driver be installed to support PE Micro Multilink Universal?
---henry
I download CodeWarrior version 11 for windows 10 and create new project with default settings.
Build successfully and debug with PE micro multilink university JTAG. But debug launch failed.
I got error:
Failed to resume target process.
Downloading binary to target...
I am using trial version CodeWarrior version 11.
Should I buy official license?

Hi,
Please download the CodeWarrior here:CodeWarrior® Dev Tools for ColdFire: Linux®|NXP
I suspect that this is not the CodeWarrior that the Henry is looking for, as it is the Linux Platform Edition for Coldfire, and the MCF52259 does not support Linux as it has no MMU. He is probably looking for the Linux hosted CodeWarrior 10.2 For Microcontrollers.
Shaun,
Yes, I looking for the Linux hosted CodeWarrior 10.2 For Microcontrollers.
But I could not see where link locates.
Please help me out.

Hello, Henry
Please be note that below official statement:
CodeWarrior for Microcontrollers is a very large product and we have received a lot of feedback concerning the performance, ease of use and stability of the product. In this resource constrained environment, trade-offs had to be made. It was either focus the engineering resources to improve ease of use, performance and stability or continue trying to do everything on both the Windows and Linux platforms. Since the number of customers downloading Linux were less than 15% and several of them actually downloaded both products, we decided to discontinue Linux support from CW MCU v10.3.
That is why you can not find any download link from the website. As for the CW MCU V10.2 Linux, I am so sorry I can not attach it here. Maybe you submit a case and the software team will sent the file to you directly. Hope it is helpful.

Fang,
Final question.
1.My source codes are in my Linux machine and CodeWarrior is in Windows.
What is your recommendation to map my source codes in Linux with Windows CodeWarrior?
2. Where can I download MCF52259 toolchain for Linux?
---henry
Fang,
I download it and failed to install it on my Ubuntu 14.04.
It said install failed.
in Ubuntu 18.04
sudo ./setuplinux.bin -is:tempdir /home/abc
returns
The directory /home/abc/istemp13006225222751
does not contain enough space to extract temporary files.
Please specify a temporary directory using the -is:tempdir
option. Use the -is:help option for more information.
