MC56F82 beans or PE

I have done one MQX project based on the examples included with MQX. I have been asked to add a SPI interface to a MC56F825X project. Doing a quick look around the forums I found more references to using PE beans then examples. Not havening used PE or the MC56F825X before I am looking for suggestions. Should I start with PE and if I do where do I find PE documentation? I am using CW 10.2 but have no experience with PE
