I need to upload u-boot into the flash of a MPC8536DS board, but CodeWarrior 8.8.2 does not even know the 8536 processor. I've been using the configuration files from http://forums.freescale.com/freescale/board/message?board.id=CWCFCOMM&thread.id=2693, but it doesn't work.
Does anybody know where how to tell CW about the 8536 or have another idea? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've checked it again, and it is version 1.0.
The problem is, that I can't select the proper processor in Flash Programmer. The 8536 is not listed under Target Processor.
For the Flash Programmer the exact processor selection is often not necessary. Load in the MPC8536___.xml file you want then set the Processor Family to '85xx' and the Target Processor to '8533'. That should work.

Per the forum thread that you referenced, what rev of the board do you have? Those patches will not work with a rev 1.1 board.
