TEA1716, certain IC production lots have jump instability between 125KHz fixed frequency operational state, and normal fixed Ton state with valley skipping.

This is causing current spike near zero crossing, which is causing Class C line harmonics failure.

How to fix this instability?

Hello David,

Please refer to the attached file. It concerns the TEA1713, but the same method can be used for TEA1716. We do not offer a 380kHz limit version for the TEA1716. So, only the modulation by capacitor to COMPPFC can help to improve.
