PN532, I2C communication, no answer if a tag is not detected

Hello,

I am using I2C without handshake to communicate with PN532. When I perform a request to detect a tag and the PN532 does not detect one, I can no longer perform requests because I am receiving always 0x00.

How can I receive an answer from PN532 when a card is not detected?
