Can SA602A or SA612A be used for 250 MHz local oscillator frequency?

Hi,

In the data sheet of both SA602A and SA612A it was specified that the typical local oscillator frequency can be 200 MHz. Can I use them for 250 MHz local oscillator frequency?

If not, is there any other IC that can be used for 250 MHz local oscillator frequency?

Arifur.

250 MHz can be used with external LO signal. Internal LO can generate beyound 200MHz. The upper limit depends on the parameters of the external circuit and it is described in the datasheet (SA612A page 6). Stable generation above 200MHz is possible but it is not guaranteed. Butler emitter follower circuit would provide higher frequencies than Colpitts configuration.

"If the required LO is beyond oscillation limits, or the system calls for an external LO, the external signal can be injected at OSC_B (pin 6) through a DC blocking capacitor."

Have a great day,
