i.MX6UL checklist for VDD_HIGH_IN and VDD_SNVS_IN

Hello,

In recommendation checklist, there was one point as below:

>>If VDD_SNVS_IN is directly supplied by a coin cell, a schottky diode is required between VDD_HIGH_IN and VDD_SNVS_IN. The cathode is connected to VDD_SNVS_IN. Alternately, VDD_HIGH_IN and VDD_SNVS_IN can be tied together if the real-time clock function is not needed during system power-down.

However above change is not implemented in any of the EVK from Freescale/NXP, eventhough they are supporting RTC feature. That means I could not see schottkey diode being used between VDD_HIGH_IN and VDD_SNVS_IN. Kindly confirm.

Regards,

Surendra

Hello

VDD_HIGH_IN must not exceed VDD_SNVS_IN by 0.3V.

On the EVK both sources DCDC_3V3 and VDD_SNVS_3V3 are 3.3V.

Have a great day,

Hello Yuri,

As I said I shall drop VDD_HIGH_IN by putting diode in series.

However I do not see any physical connection between VDD_HIGH_IN and VDD_SNVS_IN.

Below is my current schematic.

If above circuit if fine and I dont need to do anything, then its OK.

Please confirm.

Hello,

  If VDD_HIGH_IN == VDD_SNVS_3V3  - the scheme is OK.

Regards,

Yuri.
