Hi There

We are designing this device into our product but are concerned that we are not able to purchase it from Mouser or Digikey, can you please let us know when it will be available.

We have the LPCXpresso board but want just the LQFP64 device only.

Thanks and Regards
Marshall.

This is us

career limiting move or even the end of the company if its fragile and a big strategic development is relying on part availability

Thankfully and all qudos to NXP, they have made contact, and then via Arrow for "samples" so hopefully we will be able to qualify our product and mitigate the fallout to our customer for a few months until the come online in production quantities.

I called the UK office today and was presented with a very unprofessional
answerphone message and told that if I wanted more information I should
contact one of the UK distributors. They then invited me to leave a message
and somebody would get back to me.

I have heard nothing yet.

If NXP are going to supply product in a country, and they have an office
in that country, they should at the very least have a person on the end of a
phone, or to return calls in a timely manner.

Embedded Artists have been placing the QFP64 package part on their
demo boards for a while now, so they are not vapourware, so why are they
now apparently saying that we will have to wait until Q4 for supply of the parts.

I have a visit from a distributor who can supply a new device from ST, that apparently
has slightly lower power consumption than the 54102 M4 core, and I am seriously
considering turning my back on NXP permanently.

So, come on NXP, give us some facts please. When are we going to get a supply
of the QFP part ?.

Sorry for ranting, but I have been having a hard time convincing my boss that the
decision to use this part was the correct one, and I am now seriously having
second thoughts.

Andy

Guys,

I'm just an observer in all this, and bumped into this thread by chance since the title is terrible....but its given me cold sweats.

From NXPs perspective this is perhaps an inconvenient product hiccup, but depending on the customer its anything from an equivalent hiccup to a career limiting move or even the end of the company if its fragile and a big strategic development is relying on part availability.

I have no contact or relationship with either 'brownm' or 'andypevy' but there's a lot of people on this forum saying "There but for the grace of god go I...".  This hiccup has the potential to undo all of the good work that LPCXpresso, lpcware.com and lpcware have done, because if we can't trust product supply then we are _not_ going to be using your chips!

I sincerely hope you're dispatching hot and cold running FAEs even as we speak to provide whatever support they can to these unfortunates.

Regards

DAVE

What....

Where is this information ?.

Why has NXP not updated us on this news.

We are currently laying out a PCB for the LQFP Part based on the original
release date of May 2015.

How reliable will the supplies of the BGA part be ?.

Come on NXP, please get your communication sorted out.

Andy

Dear Brown,
Thank you for pointing out the response from Mouser. The LPC54100 LQFP package is scheduled to sample in Q4 of this year but for now you won’t be able to place orders at Mouser.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Thank you for choosing NXP.
Best regards.

Mouser cancelled our order for the LQFP Part, saying that it has not been discontinued, but is no longer available for order.

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THIS PART.

We have PCB's and stencils manufactured, we have all the other components but cannot build our product.
The development kit we have, is bricked, with both cores starting simultaneously at address 0, weirdness promptly follows, it appeared that one of the cores wrote to CRP3 (we didn't set it)

If you have issues with the part and are not going to release it, or have delayed it can you please let the forum know.

Thanks Marshall

Oh no, we are spinning boards now. This is terrible news. Is there any way or any where we can get a handful for qualification?

Will end of May push out even further?

Should we be thinking about a backup plan?

Thanks Marshall

Hi Brownm,

Looks like only the CSP package will be released in April. LQFP should be coming towards end of May. I am sorry for the delays...your patience is appreciated!

Oh that's not good,

Is there anywhere we can obtain a dozen or so to qualify our product?  We could buy the LPCXpresso's and unsolder them, but that's kind of unreliable.

Hi brownm,

The LPC5410x should be stocked by distributors around the end of February (LQFP64 package included). Keep your eyes peeled! ;)

EDIT: The LPC5410x has been delayed until April.
