Hi,
Is it possible to connect a SATA hard disk to the T4240RDB board? What kind of cabling is needed?
Socket for the SATA Data Cable is present on-board.
SATA Power cable is provided by the RDB's PSU.
Thank you!
Can you also tell me if the board is delivered with DDR3 memory or one has to buy it separately? If yes, which kind of memory is delivered?
The RDB is equipped with 3 x 4GB UDIMMs.
The RDB documentation is available at:
I am wondering if this is really true (i.e. 12GB of memory).
In the T4240RDBQS.pdf it says that 3 DIMMS slots are supported (2 GB per DIMM) while in T4240RDBFS.pdf it says:
"Three unbuffered DDR3 240-pin uDIMM modules with ECC (72-bit bus), 6 GB memory, 1866 MT/s data rate"
which would suggest that the memory is pre-installed.
The confusing arises from the fact that T4240RDBQS.pdf does not give the impression that the memory is pre-installed.
Thanks.
You are right.
I'm sorry for the issue with the memory size.
This is the real board booting log shows:
DRAM: Initializing....using SPD
Detected UDIMM 9JSF25672AZ-2G1K1
Detected UDIMM 9JSF25672AZ-2G1K1
Detected UDIMM 9JSF25672AZ-2G1K1
4 GiB left unmapped
6 GiB (DDR3, 64-bit, CL=13, ECC on)
DDR Controller Interleaving Mode: 3-way 4KB
The memory surely is pre-installed.
The issue was caused by the RDB board documentation issue (QorIQ T4240 Reference Design Board Quick Start, Rev. 2) where the log is:
