VPU Driver Test on WEC7-i.MX6 Platfrom

Hello all,

During testing of the VPU basic driver application  (ENCTEST & DECTEST) provided by the Freescale for i.MX6 processor platform for Windows Embedded Compact 7 (WEC 7) results in VPU encoder failing. 

Below error message was displayed on running the Encoder Test Application. 

PID:00400004 TID:058E013A ERROR: g:\wince700\platform\common\src\soc\mx6q_fsl_v3\vpu\code\vpu_helper.cpp line 458: PID:00400005 TID:058E013A Wrong offset and/or encode size!
PID:00400005 TID:058E013A ERROR: g:\wince700\platform\common\src\soc\mx6q_fsl_v3\vpu\code\vpu.cpp line 3093: PID:00400003 TID:058E013A The EncOpenParam is invalid!

VPU_EncOpen function returns RETCODE_INVALID_PARAM.

Testing was done with a raw YUV file, and had verified all the encoder configuration parameters to be given for VPU_EncOpen.

I am able to test the similar Decoder Application which is displaying the video after decoding a H264/MP4 encoded file.

Please let me know whether anybody has successfully tested the encoder functionality of VPU component with the test application provided.

Hi Ashfaque,

   Even I am facing the same issue for higher Encode width and  height not for 320 x 240 resolution. 

Error thrown :    vpu_EncOpen failed Error code is 0*e

Input source :    720 x 480 resolution YUV format file

output :640 x 480 resolution H264 format file of bitrate 512

Any idea on this problem.
