Has anyone used the BDM from Witztronics?

It's only $49 and it supports the S08 family.

Any feedback is welcome.

It looks pretty good, but I would be wary of a company that has no address, phone number or even an email address anywhere on their website. Been there.

i bought one and it works now and then. It needs to be programmed with an s file and i cannot get the board programmed. And i can not find any help. It worked really good for two weeks, without programming. It is beyond me how to get the witztronics board programmed. I read all the text files and i still can not get it to work.

i got the witztronics board to work. The lierature that comes with the debug board is not good. the witztronics debug board comes already programmed. It is a plug and play unit.

i have a 9S08QG8 chip. the witztronics board can not get into the background of the chip. You have to force the chip into the background mode,  by holding the BKGD pin low, while you apply power. This forces your chip into the background mode.

now u r ready to program.

Mine works great!

I think you miss understood the directions.  You do not need to program the Witztronics board, you use it to program the target boards.

As BigMac mentions, there are many posting regarding the QG family issues.

I see that they have added their contact info to the web site.

I'm going to give it a try.
I'll let you know how it works.

And what about using an embedded BDM port in a DemoBoard, like DEMO9S08QD4 (59$) or DEMO9S08AW60E (85$) which, especially the latter, are also powerful and feature rich evaluation and test boards?

Any comments?
