Hi All,

My customer uses KSZ8081MNX with RT1170.

The KSZ8081MNX doesn't need the TX_ER signal, so my customer wants to use that pin as a GPIO.

I think that's perfectly fine, but my customer wants a comment from NXP.
Could someone please comment on that certainty?

Can the TX_ER pin be used as a GPIO?
It doesn't affect the behavior of ENET, right?

Thanks,
George

Hi @george ,

  Your understanding is totally correct!

To the RT chip, if the pin is not used by the peripherial, it can be configured as the GPIO function.

So, you can use it as the GPIO when you don't use it as the ENET function.

Wish it helps you!
