16bit voice input from PDM microphones

Dear support team,

I am learning the audio function of RT11770-EVK and noticed by default the PDM microphone input data are 24bit.

Are there any guidelines to get 16bit microphone input data? For example, how can we efficiently convert the 24bit to 16bit w/o using too much CPU cycles?
