Hello,

Does anybody know of Linux ports to i.MX RT boards, IMXRT1170 in particular?

Thanks!

Ron

Indeed, Emcraft develops and supports Linux (uClinux) BSPs for various i.MX RT SoCs, including the i.MX RT 1170.

Key features of the BSPs are as follows:

- Linux kernel v 6.1.22, which is the same kernel baseline NXP currently supports for the MMU-full SoCs (eg. i.MX 8M*, etc). Basically, it means you have the latest Linux kernel, with all I/O stacks, device drivers, etc running on the i.MX RT.

- Various I/O device drivers and stacks (eg. Linux TCP/IP stack, UBIFS on Flash, CANsocket, ADC, USB Host and Gadgets, LVGL Graphics, WiFi/BT, GPIO, I2C, SPI, etc)

- Recent GNU toolchain (GCC 11.3.0) optimised for Cortex-M7

- Support for ELF and shared libraries

- Hardware FPU enabled.

We provide a Linux demo tailored for the NXP i.MX RT EVK boards. See, for instance:
