imx8mq Android 10 display scaling issue

Greetings,
We have the LVDS display AUO G121XN01 with resolution 1024x768 connected through SN65DSI83 (MIPI-DSI-LVDS bridge) to imx8mq custom board.

On Android 10 (2.6.0) the display is stretched (see photo).

On Android 11 (1.0.0) everything is fine.

Both Androids use the same Linux kernel.

With 1280x800 display both Androids work fine.

Our conclusion so far is that Android 10 display/graphic HAL (supplied by NXP) has an issue with correct display scaling (for low resolutions e.g. 1024x768).

Could you please help us to resolve the issue?

Best regards,
Gennady

Please advise if we can somehow fix or workaround this issue. We have a very disappointed customer waiting for the solution.

Hi Gennady

in such case issue should be reproducable without SN65DSI83, just with i.MX8MQ EVK.

Please provide steps how it can be reproduced  on NXP side with EVK.

Unfortunately SN65DSI83 is not "officially" supported by NXP in its BSPs, for that reason may be

suggested to proceed with help of  https://contact.nxp.com/new-prof-svcs-sw-tech

Hi Gennady

those nxp original android releases have different kernels and gpu drivers as described on below lin

so may be recommended to rebuild image from scratch using nxp sources.

Hi Igor,

thank you for your reply!

We already use the latest Android 10.0.0_2.6.0, apparently the problem is addressed in Android 11 only.

Best regards,

Gennady

We already use 5.4.70 kernel. Sorry if it wasn't clear, it's the only kernel I see available with 10.0.0_2.6.0.
