Hi,

we were trying to build images for imx8mm-lpddr4-evk. but we facing issues.

$ DISTRO=fsl-imx-wayland MACHINE=imx8mm-lpddr4-evk source imx-setup-release.sh -b <build folder>

$ bitbake core-image-minimal

which we build successfully. but we did modification in u-boot the final image file didnt get modified. Please refer below commands

$ vim /tmp/work/imx8mm_lpddr4_evk-poky-linux/u-boot-imx/2022.04-r0/git/ <made changes>

$ bitbake -c compile u-boot / u-boot-imx / imx-boot

$ bitbake  u-boot / u-boot-imx / imx-boot

$ bitbake core-image-minimal

At this point we observe the u-boot file get updated but not the final flash.bin file.

We facing this issue and trying to resolve but end up come to same place. Can you help us what was the extra command to create flash.bin?

Thanks.

Vignesh

Hi @vignesh-baskaran

Please try to add parameter "-f" while compiling target: bitbake -c compile -f

Best regards

Harvey

Hi @vignesh-baskaran

You can refer to 4.5.13 How to build imx-boot image by using imx-mkimage of Linux User guide

using imx-mkimage.

Best regards

Hi! I have a trouble with YOCTO imx-mkimage.
I do

bitbake -c compile u-boot-imx

do changes in /tmp/work/imx8mm_ddr4_evk-poky-linux/u-boot-imx/2022.04-r0/git/ spl.c and imx8mm-ddr4-evk spl.c+dts

bitbake u-boot-imx
copieng file (refer to 4.5.13 How to build imx-boot image by using imx-mkimage of Linux User guide)

bitbake imx-mkinage

but imx-boot-imx8mm-ddr4-evk-sd.bin-flash_ddr4_evk not include my changes.
What did I do wrong?

We also tried creating patch and adding to sources/meta-imx/meta-bsp/recipes-bsp/u-bootu-boot-imx_2022.04.bb

FILESEXTRAPATHS:prepend := "${THISDIR}/files:"
SRC_URI += "file://0001-DTB-Makefile.patch"

these were the only changes we made. Please refer below.
